SoFresh started with something many Lagosians know all too well. The stress and chaos of going to the market just to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. It was often unhygienic, disorganised, and honestly exhausting. We kept thinking there had to be a better way.

That idea came to life during time spent in South Africa, where we saw fresh fruits and vegetables neatly packaged and sold in clean, convenient supermarkets. It was simple. It was organised. It just made sense. That experience stayed with us and shaped what would eventually become SoFresh.

In 2010, we opened our very first store in Ogba, Lagos. The idea was a modern version of a farmer’s market. Clean, organised, and focused on fresh produce in a hygienic environment. But our customers quickly told us they wanted more. They wanted convenience, variety, and healthy food that was ready to eat.

So we listened. We evolved from a produce store into a brand offering freshly prepared salads, juices, smoothies, parfaits, and wraps. At the time, healthy eating was not yet a culture in Nigeria. Many people did not even see salads as real food. We had to educate the market and build the business at the same time.

It was not easy. In 2013, we came very close to shutting down. Instead, we made a tough decision to open one more store and try again. That decision changed everything. From there, SoFresh began to grow.

Today, SoFresh has become Nigeria’s leading healthy food brand. And we still carry the same simple purpose we started with. Making fresh, healthy food easy, accessible, and enjoyable for everyday life.
